My first handspun…drop spindle, using mystery wool roving…
The Kromski Minstrel…beautiful baby…which I got for my birthday this year…
My first wheel spun yarn…about 65 metres….using the mystery rovings…

Superwash merino, wheel spun, from Sakinaneedles…knit into ‘ice queen’ pat
Superwash merino mill ends from theblacklamb.ca…wheel spun light worsted (ish) weight…knit into ‘hexacomb cardigan’ pattern…
Seacell/silk blend, from theblacklamb.ca…spun to heavy worsted and made into ‘ribby shrug’ pattern…
‘Silver Lights’
black/grey superwash merino from theblacklamb.ca wheel spun to a worsted weight yarn…knit into an improvised sweater pattern for my son…(to be finished sometime soon)…
‘Candy Stripe Yarn’
Superwash merino in oranges/yellow, wheel spun to a heavy fingering/sport weight yarn and knit into an improvised ‘candy stripe sock’ pattern…
‘Rose Garden’ Handspun
Superwash merino in pinks/greens/blue/purple…wheel spun to mimic hand paint roving…light to heavy fingering weight yarn…
The latest, I’m calling it ‘Violet Rose’ – 520 metres, 2 ply, laceweight superwash merino spun in the ‘fake hand paint’ way…
Shadows, spun for the Winter Twilight Mitts – laceweight superwash merino, 2 ply, 440 metres – I spun this with a navy and a black roving in my ‘fake hand paint’. I think it suggests shadows very nicely!
Pink Frost handspun, spun from mill ends (theblacklamb.ca) of two shades (pink multi and shell pink) plied 2 ply, 969 yards. Between 12 and 14 wpi – before washing, wacking and drying BUT about 10 to 12 wpi NOW — an excellent lesson in how yarn blooms -, roughly, thick and thin type yarn.

I spun this specifically for a sweater and hope to have enough!

I’m very happy with this yarn…it turned out nicely lofty and very soft. I’m overcoming my urge to overspin! 🙂

It’s all so beautiful – you are incredibly talented. I especially love that last rose and green mix.
Jo…Thank you so much! 🙂
So glad you are having such fun with the merino. I can’t believe how GOOD you are getting in such a short time, the “fake” handpainted is AMAZING!!!!! You must show me what you knit with that one. Hope to see more wonderful creations from you.
Wow, look at all the lovely pink handspun! I admire you for being able to stick to it and spin enough for a sweater. That is not an easy task!!
